Daughters and Sons

There is no difference between us when daddy is not home

From what I understand we are at risk of being unproductive

But then it turns out some of us don’t let bio daddy’s absence hinder

Our doors are many, yet the one that stayed close belong to daddy

There are tears although crying does not change the situation

So then we find the outlet of expression that helps us tell our story

We are never alone because our existence is the same as so many

The process of coming to terms with the state of fatherlessness is individualized

The key however is to know your value does not exist in the person who left you.
